How to track your portfolio
Add each position with its ticker, number of shares and your average cost per share. StockEngine pulls the latest price to show the current value, your unrealized gain or loss in dollars and percent, today's change and each holding's weight in your portfolio. Use the watchlist tab to follow stocks you don't own yet; tap the star on any stock page or screener row to add it.
Your data never leaves your device and there is no account to create. To move your portfolio to another browser or back it up, use Export CSV and Import CSV. Clearing your browser data will remove your saved portfolio.

Can I connect my brokerage account?
Not currently. To keep things private and free, holdings are entered manually or imported from a CSV file with Symbol, Shares, AvgCost and BuyDate columns.
How is performance vs. the S&P 500 calculated?
The chart shows how your current holdings, in their current share amounts, would have performed over the past year compared with the SPY ETF. It ignores deposits, withdrawals and trades during the period.
Does it include dividends?
Gains are based on price changes only. Use the dividend calculator to estimate the income your holdings can generate.
How to get the most from your portfolio tracker
Compare against the S&P 500. The performance chart shows how your holdings have done against the index. If your stock picks consistently trail it, a low-cost index fund may serve you better; see index funds vs. individual stocks.
Watch your allocation. If one stock or sector grows to dominate your portfolio, your risk rises with it. Review your mix a couple of times a year and rebalance if needed. See how to diversify your portfolio and asset allocation by age.
Track cost basis accurately. Enter the price you actually paid for each purchase so your gains, and any capital gains tax estimates, are realistic.
Use the watchlist for stocks you're researching but don't own yet, and check them in AI Insights before buying.
Your data stays private
There's no account and nothing to sign up for. Your holdings are saved only in this browser on this device, so they're never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data will remove them, and they won't sync between devices.
